XXL to MPR: frequently asked questions
Can I run the file this produces?
Not without checking it first. No file this converter has written has been opened in woodWOP or run on a machine. Open it in woodWOP, or the free woodWOP demo, and compare it against the drawing before it goes near material.
Why does every conversion carry a warning?
Because the woodWOP side is unproven, and saying so on every file is more honest than saying it once in the small print. The warning goes away for everyone the first time someone confirms a converted file opens correctly.
Why was my file refused?
Most often because it shifts the origin or calls a subprogram. Both change what gets machined, and neither has a woodWOP equivalent, so writing the file without them would produce a program that cuts the wrong thing. The report names the line.
Why are the depths different numbers?
They are the same depths written the other way up. woodWOP states the height of material left under a cut rather than the depth of the cut, so 6 mm into an 18 mm panel is written as 12.
What happens to my drilling?
Each hole becomes a vertical boring macro, or a horizontal one if the program selected an edge. The spindle number is carried through, but woodWOP chooses bits by diameter, so you will need to set that in woodWOP or find out what each spindle carries.
Do you keep my file?
The file and the converted result are kept for 90 days, which is how the converters get better: a real program that converts badly is the only way to find out that it does. Nothing is shared unless you ask for a link.
